On Wednesday, May 19, 2021, Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson joined forces for a competition during their appearance on The Tonight Show, Starring Jimmy Fallon. The two of them set aside their friendly rivalry in order to face off against Jimmy Fallon and Tariq Trotter from The Roots.
The two teams participated in a game called The Jinx Challenge. Each team is given a random category and must shout out the first word that comes to their mind. If team players jinx each other by saying the same thing, they get a point.
Categories included Olympic Event, Cowboy Accessory, and States In The South. Clarkson even called Shelton “Robin Hood” after he shouted out “Archery” for the Olympic event category. The entire game was hilarious and while both teams lost the first two rounds, Shelton and Clarkson got the big win during the final round!
During the show, Shelton also sat down to chat with Fallon and the two of them discussed Shelton’s upcoming wedding to Gwen Stefani. During their conversation, the country star revealed what song he and Stefani chose for their first dance.
Additionally, Shelton also talked about his new upcoming album, Body Language, his just-announced tour plans, and The Voice two-night finale.
