Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” Wins Top Country Song at the BBMAs

Shaboozey Wins Big at the Billboard Music Awards

Shaboozey’s single “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” continues to make history.

On Thursday night, December 12, the 2024 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) celebrated the year’s top artists, songs, and albums across all genres.

Shaboozey received a lot of praise in the country categories, earning six nominations for his record-breaking single “A Bar Song (Tipsy).”

“A Bar Song (Tipsy) has become one of the year’s biggest hits. Since its release in April, Shaboozey has earned multiple nominations for the track. Just last month, he attended the CMA Awards, where he received his first-ever CMA nominations, including Single of the Year and Best New Artist.

The 29-year-old singer has also earned an impressive total of five nominations for the 2025 Grammy Awards, with recognition in categories such as Best Country Song, Best Country Solo Performance, and Song of the Year.

The country-pop crossover has shattered records, dominating the charts for more weeks than any other song in the past decade.

The song has spent 19 weeks at No.1 on Bollboard’s Hot 100. If it holds the spot for one more week, it will set the record for the longest-running No.1 in the Hot 100’s 66-year history. Currently, he is tied with Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, which held the top spot for 19 weeks in 2019.

During the BBMAs, Shaboozey received nods for Top New Artist, Top Song Sales Artist, Top Hot 100 Song, Top Streaming Song, Top Selling Song, and Top Country Song.

By the end of the night, the breakout star took home three out of six awards: Top Song Sales Artist, Top Selling Song, and the major honor of being named Top Country Song.
