Thursday evening (September 23) served as date night for country superstar Shania Twain and Frédéric Thiébaud, her husband of almost 11 years. They were at the Zurich Film Festival to attend the premiere of the new foreign language film Und morgen seid ihr tot (And Tomorrow We’ll Be Dead).
It seems they are regulars at the Zurich Film Festival, seeing as they attended a film premiere at the festival last year as well! They posed on the red carpet with big smiles and a loving embrace.
Twain herself shared two photos from the event on her Instagram and used the caption, “The Woman In Me (Needs The Man In You).”
This year, Thiébaud wore a fancy suit and bowtie and Twain opted for a plaid dress with yellow and pink sleeves. They embraced once again for a sweet date night photo.
The couple, who was married on January 1, 2011, does not venture out in the public all that often, so when they do, it’s a treat for her fans! Their love story is unconventional, but beautiful.
Their love came to be because of their mutual heartbreak, but sometimes you find true love when you least expect it. Twain was married to Robert “Mutt” Lange in 1993, but in 2008, she found out he was allegedly having an affair with her good friend, Marie-Anne Thiébaud. It was actually Frédéric, Marie-Anne’s then-husband, who informed the singer of the affair.
They confided in each other and eventually fell in love. After each of them divorced, they were married.
“I didn’t want to love again-it was the last thing on my mind,” Twain told PEOPLE in 2011. “It’s just amazing how life works.”
