On March 25, 2020, the late Steve Irwin’s only daughter was married to the love of her life, a young man named Chandler Powell.
Bindi Irwin shared the news on Instagram, saying, “We held a small ceremony and I married my best friend. There are no words to describe the amount of love and light in my heart right now. We’ve planned this beautiful day for nearly a year and had to change everything, as we didn’t have guests at our wedding.”
She continued, “We wish all of our friends and family could have been there with us, however it’s lovely that we will be able to share photos and videos. Right now we’re encouraging the world to hold onto hope and love, which will carry us forward during this profound time in history. Today we celebrated life and revelled in every beautiful moment we shared together in our Australia Zoo gardens.”

The people who were able to attend included her mother Terri, who helped her get ready, and her younger brother Robert, who walked her down the aisle. They also lit a candle in Steve’s memory during the ceremony.
Of the momentous occasion, Terri wrote on Twitter, “I am so very happy for you both. Your love shines bright in a world that needs a lot of hope and love right now. I know that Steve would be incredibly proud. Love wins!“

It seems as the days went on, Terri couldn’t help herself but reminisce about the wonderful day, and about the man who couldn’t be there. On Saturday (March 28), Terri once again took to Twitter to imagine what her husband would have worn while walking their daughter down the aisle.
She shared a photo of Steve holding a very young Robert at the first wedding the young boy had ever attended.
“I love that Steve and Robert both wore khaki,” she wrote. “I know Steve would have worn khaki to Bindi & Chandler’s wedding, too. I wish he could have been there to see the most special day in his daughter’s life. We miss him so much.”

We would have loved to see Steve in his trademark khaki walking Bindi down the aisle. They always had the cutest relationship.
