The Red Clay Strays Have Become One Of The Fastest Rising Acts In Country Music
The Red Clay Strays seem to be everywhere right now, having what may be the biggest breakout year of their career.
The country-rock band first gained attention in 2022 with their single “Wondering Why.” The song saw even greater success the following year after going viral on social media, eventually becoming their first track to chart on the Billboard Hot 100.

Since then, the Red Clay Strays have continued to rise in popularity. This year, they earned their first-ever ACM nomination with a nod in the New Duo or Group of the Year category.
They ended up taking home the win and got the exciting news ahead of the show when country superstar Miranda Lambert surprised them with a congratulatory phone call to let them know they had officially won their first ACM Award.

The band has been keeping busy on the road, currently touring across the country.
At each concert, it’s become a regular part of their set to pay tribute to classic country songs by covering tracks from legends who helped shape the genre.
For example, not long ago, the Red Clay Strays teamed up with Zach Top during a stop at the Georgia Rodeo, where both were part of the event’s lineup.
Together, they delivered a highly talked-about performance of Waylon Jennings’ iconic song “Where Corn Don’t Grow.”
The Red Clay Strays Cover A Hank Williams Jr Classic
Most recently, the band honored the great Hank Williams Jr. with a powerful cover of his 1981 hit “Weatherman” during one of their shows.

The Red Clay Strays’ lead singer, Brandon Coleman, belted out the lyrics in the traditional country style the band is known and loved for, while the rest of the group played effortlessly behind him.
Fans flooded the comment section of a video from their performance, showing tons of love for the band’s cover of the Hank Williams Jr. classic.
“Dude, that just made my day. I love that freaking song and you guys nailed it!!!” a fan wrote.
“Only other artist that could cover this song perfectly! Well done,” another said.
“I love it…Hanks gotta be proud!” wrote someone else.
