Reba McEntire Is Returning To The Voice For Season 28
Country fans rejoiced when The Voice announced on Monday (May 12) that Reba McEntire is returning to the show. The country music queen coached the 24th- 26th seasons of the show, and won Season 25 with Asher HaVon.
Reba took a break from The Voice during Season 27 to focus on her sitcom, Happy’s Place, her tour, and other projects. But after her single-season hiatus, she plans to return for Season 28 this fall!
In addition to Reba, the other singers coaching Season 28 are all fan-favorites from past seasons. Snoop Dogg, Niall Horan, and Michael Bublé will round out the panel.

The Reason Reba Initially Dreaded Being A Coach
Reba recently appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers to speak about her return to The Voice. During their conversation, she confessed that she was initially “dreading” being a coach before her first season started.
She shared the surprisingly sweet reason why she had reservations about the role:
“I was really dreading it at first because I don’t want to tell anybody they suck.“
Those same reservations served as Reba’s reason for turning down The Voice in the past. She’s previously spoken about how the show asked her to be a coach for Season 1 in 2011, but she declined.
While talking with Seth Meyers, Reba went into more detail about why she turned down The Voice at first:
“I passed on it years ago when it first came over from Holland, and I said, I can’t tell somebody ‘don’t give up your day job.’ I’m not going to do that.”
But once she joined The Voice, she learned just how “helpful and encouraging” her fellow coaches were to the contestants. “We’re nice people,” she said, “We encourage, we lift up.”
Watch the video below to hear Reba speak more about why she initially hesitated to join The Voice. Plus, she shares her feelings about her sitcom, Happy’s Place, being renewed for a second season!
