In 2007, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson starred in a film titled The Game Plan. He starred as Joe “The King” Kingman, a hot shot quarterback for a professional football team. After returning home after a big win, he finds a little girl on his doorstep who claims to be his biological daughter.
The movie follows their new relationship and Johnson’s character struggles to find the balance between his high-profile life and his new daughter, Payton.
Not only does he and Elvis Presley share the same nickname in the movie, Johnson’s character is also a super fan of the musician. With Presley posters all over his penthouse, he turns to The King to console Payton when she is upset with him.
He grabs his guitar, which even says “Elvis Presley” on the neck, leans up against the wall and begins to sing “Are You Lonesome Tonight.”
He’s no Elvis, but he’s pretty dang good for a pro wrestler-turned actor! In fact, this isn’t even the first time he’s sung in a movie. He has previously performed Loretta Lynn’s “You Ain’t Woman Enough” in the movie Be Cool.
