“The Voice” Is Switching Up Its Schedule

Season 23 of The Voice kicked off in March. Veteran coaches Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton were joined by two new co-stars, Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan.

This season carries a lot of weight, since it’s Shelton’s last one. He is leaving the show after serving as a coach for all 23 seasons.

So far, viewers have witnessed the talented contestants performing in the auditions and battle rounds. The knockouts are next, with country superstar Reba McEntire jumping in to assist as the teams’ mega mentor. Those will start tonight (April 17).

The previous episode of The Voice aired on April 10. But this new episode simply covered the highlights of the season so far.

Additionally, The Voice is switching up its schedule for the rest of the season. Don’t get cozy in front of your TV on any future Tuesdays, because The Voice is no longer airing new episodes on those nights.

This is pretty standard protocol for the show. It usually airs for two nights in the early stages, then switches to once a week when the later part of the season starts.

As NBC explained in a statement on its website:

“The Voice’s air schedule is changing slightly as we start the second half of the season. Star[t]ing April 10, the show changes to just Monday nights at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock (no more Tuesday shows). The April 10th episode is a highlights-slash-recap episode, and the Knockouts officially kick off Monday, April 17 at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock. Then, you’ll have the Playoffs after that, followed by the Live Shows—remember, on Monday nights only.”

The Voice will air a Tuesday episode as part of the two-part Season 23 finale. Those episodes will air Monday, May 22 at 8/7c and Tuesday, May 23 at 9/8c.

So you’ll have a little less Voice in your life for the next few weeks. But things are heating up in the competition, and you’ll soon be able to vote for your favorite contestants!

Head below to watch some of the best performances from the last week of the battles. Which contestant are you most excited to see perform in the knockouts?
