Alexia Jayy Was Crowned The Winner Of Season 29 Of The Voice
Season 29 of The Voice has come to an end!
This season was unlike any other. To begin, it only featured three coaches: Adam Levine, John Legend, and Kelly Clarkson.
All three won the show before, so they know what it takes to emerge victorious! That’s why this season was dubbed the “Battle of Champions.”
The Voice previously released a trailer for the new season highlighting the coaches’ competitive spirits.

Additionally, the show introduced several new elements and rules. Plus, some fan-favorite former contestants returned during the Knockouts.
After all of the twists and turns, four contestants were left standing during the finale on April 14th: Alexia Jayy (Team Adam), Lucas West (Team Legend), Mikenley Brown (Team Kelly), and Liv Ciara (Team Kelly).
Since the entire season was pre-taped, the winner was chosen by an in-house audience. After all of the votes were tallied, host Carson Daly announced that Alexia Jayy was the winner, bringing Levine his fourth win as a coach!
“I would say I can’t believe it, but I can,” said Levine. “There is no one that is more deserving of this honor.“
Revisiting The Moment When Alexia Jayy Earned The First Three-Chair-Turn On Season 29 Of The Voice
Following Alexia Jayy’s win, we wanted to revisit her extraordinary blind audition. Fans didn’t even have to wait until the season premiere to watch it, because it was released early as a “sneak peek.”
Jayy showcased the beauty and power of her voice by singing Aretha Franklin’s “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.” She earned an almost-immediate turn from coach Kelly Clarkson. It didn’t take long for John Legend and Adam Levine to follow her lead.
Therefore, Jayy became the first person to ever earn a three-chair turn on The Voice (with only three coaches present to turn).
With the pressure off, Jayy let her voice soar as she entertained the coaches and the crowd. She had all three coaches on their feet before the end of the song!
John Legend encouraged Jayy to welcome her nine-year-old son, Matthew, onstage. Matthew smiled as he stood by his mom and listened to the coaches shower her with praise. There was a funny moment when Clarkson called his mama “a bada–,” noting that Matthew shouldn’t repeat that word.
In another comical moment, Legend asked Matthew about his favorite artist, and he answered, “Maroon 5.” That is, of course, the band that Voice coach Adam Levine has been the frontman of for over 30 years.
After soaking in that glory, Levine turned his attention to Jayy. He said:
“You have that voice that motivates me even more to say, ‘You know what? This is the best voice in the competition. This is what has to win…You’re one of the best we’ve ever seen.”
When the time came to make a decision, Jayy chose her son’s favorite artist as her coach, joining Team Adam. And he took her all the way to #1!
