“The Voice” Recap: Season 27, Episode 2 – Who Used Their Block & Coach Replay?

Season 27 of The Voice Is Underway

The Voice airs its Blind Auditions on Mondays, differing from past seasons, where the show aired on Tuesdays. Tuesday episodes will be reintroduced once The Voice gets to the live shows.

Episode Two of the season aired on Monday, February 10, with 11 singers vying for a spot on either Team John Legend, Team Michael Bublé, Team Kelsea Ballerini, or Team Adam Levine.

Tatum Scott – “vampire”

The 22-year-old from High Point, North Carolina kicked off the episode with a performance of Olivia Rodrigo’s hit song “vampire.” The Voice actually released her audition a few days before the episode aired.

Bryson Battle – “A Song For You”

Bryson, a 21-year-old from Harrisburg, North Carolina, wowed  the coaches with his incredible cover of Leon Bridges’ “A Song For You.” Michael Bublé even told him he might have “the greatest voice I’ve ever heard.”

Coaches who turned: John Legend, Michael Bublé, Kelsea Ballerini, Adam Levine

Jordan Allen – “Old Time Rock & Roll”

30-year-old Joshua Allen hails from London, Kentucky and delivered a soulful rendition of Beb Seger’s “Old Time Rock & Roll.”

Coaches who turned: Michael Bublé and John Legend

Hayden Grove – “Mack The Knife”

As soon as all the coaches turned after Grove’s “Mack The Knife” cover, Bublé immediately knew Hayden, who is 31 and from Ohio. Hayden has been to a few Bublé shows and the “Fever” singer even follow the Voice hopeful on TikTok. Despite not turning, Bublé gave a quick coaching lessen in traditional pop and offered to help Levine coach him.

Team Adam

Susan Hickman – “It Must Have Been Love”

The 31-year-old singer from Texas is a professional skydiver but has dreams of making it big as a singer. She has been touring since she was 15, and performed Roxette’s “It Must Have Been Love.”

Coaches who turned: none

Jaelen Johnston – “Where The Wild Things Are”

The 21-year-old singer performed this Luke Combs hit that had coaches fighting over him!

Coaches who turned: Michael Bublé, Adam Levine, and Kelsea Ballerini

Coach who chose: Team Kelsea

Ricardo Moreno – “Put Your Hand On My Shoulder”

Despite being known on social media as a mariachi singer, 25-year-old Ricardo Moreno performed Paul Anka’s “Put Your Head on My Shoulder.” He did sing one short verse in Spanish, which visibly impressed the coaches, although no one turned.

Bublé clearly regretted no turning because he used his one and only Coach Replay!

Ari Camille – “I Wanna Be Down”

The 21-year-old performed a classic Brandy song and had two coaches fighting over her!

Coach she chose: Team Legend

Braxton Garza – “Pretty Little Poison”

Braxton impressed Michael Bublé so much that he used his block on Kelsea Ballerini, so he automatically became a member of Team Michael!

Carmela – “Like A Stone”

Carmela was the penultimate singer on Episode 2 and although she really did give a solid performance, it wasn’t enough for any coaches to turn for her.

Britton Moore – “Yellow”

We always know the last singer is going to make a splash, so we had high hopes for 21-year-old Britton Moore, who sang Coldplay’s legendary song “Yellow.”

A four-chair turn, the coaches fought hard over this singer. The video clip above is over 6 minutes long and he only sang for about 90 seconds!

Coaches who turned: ALL 4!

Coach he chose: Team Adam

At the end of the episode, each coach picked up two singers except for John Legend, who scored three.

That wrapped up Season 27, Episode 2! We can’t wait to see what next week’s episode has in store for us!
