Zach Top’s “I Never Lie” Receives Gold Certification
Country newcomer Zach Top has just reached a huge milestone in his career.
In the spring of 2024, Zach Top released his debut studio album Cold Beer & Country Music. The album was a breakout moment for the 27-year-old singer, debuting at No. 49 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and later climbing to a peak of No. 14.
Soon after he released his album, Top became a viral sensation when one of its songs gained major popularity online. “I Never Lie” became a huge hit, especially with users on TikTok.
“I Never Lie” debuted at number 95 on Billboard’s Hot 100, marking Top’s first-ever entry on the chart. The song eventually climbed to the 26th spot.
On Friday, February 7, “I Never Lie” was officially certified Gold by the RIAA.
The certification is awarded when 500,000 copies of the song are sold.

While appearing on the Sprout podcast a few months ago, Top discussed the moment he realized his career had taken a positive turn. He also admitted that he was surprised this was the track that ultimately launched his career.
“We were playing like 200 or 300 cap rooms and hoping maybe 100 or 150 show up to make it feel full enough,” he said. “Then all of the sudden, everything started selling out in advance and we’re showing up knowing we’re playing to a full room. And rooms just kept getting bigger and bigger…”I Never Lie” has kind of been the thing off the record that’s really poked its head up.”
He continued, “It’s funny. That’s either my favorite or second favorite song on the record. But I wasn’t expecting that one to be the one that kind of takes off and be the ‘hit’ so to speak of the whole thing. It’s cool.”
Zach Top Is Currently On His Cold Beer And Country Music Tour
With the success that Zach Top has seen in just a year, it was no surprise when he announced his first headlining tour. The shows kicked off at the start of the year and will run through March 8, giving fans plenty of chances to grab tickets and hear “I Never Lie” and more live as he travels from city to city.
