What Is The Mic Drop On The Voice? What Is The Prize?
Several changes were introduced to The Voice during Season 28, including the addition of a new button in the knockouts. Called the “Mic Drop,” each coach could only press the button for one contestant during the knockout round.
The coaches saved their Mic Drop for the artists they felt went above and beyond in their performances. As coach Reba McEntire said during one episode:
“We have a new thing called the Mic Drop button, and each coach gets to select one of their artists. And then we turn them over to the voters of America…“
The four Mic Drop artists who emerged from the knockouts were Aaron Nichols (Team Reba), Yoshihanaa (Team Snoop), DEK of Hearts (Team Niall), and Max Chambers (Team Bublé).

How Long Do Fans Have Left To Vote For Their Favorite Mic Drop Singer?
As The Voice prepares to enter the playoffs next week (on December 1), fans have been left wondering: when will the Mic Drop winner be announced?
Thankfully, the show answered that question in a recent post shared on NBC’s website. The article also revealed that the voting window will close at 7 AM ET on Friday, November 28. At the time of this article’s publication, fans have only three days left to cast their votes.
You can vote for your favorite Mic Drop singer on The Voice‘s app or online on the show’s official website.
As for when the winner will be revealed, the big announcement will be made during the second night of the playoffs, on Monday, December 8.
Keep in mind, the results of the Mic Drop don’t have an impact on the larger competition. The Mic Drop winner isn’t guaranteed a spot in the live shows; they’re simply promised the Rose Parade performance slot.
