Toby Keith’s first concert back after his cancer diagnosis was such a success that he had to do it again.

With hopes to be back on the road in the near future, Toby tested his performance ability with two shows back-to-back at his Oklahoma venue, Hollywood Corners. His team shared a post on Instagram Saturday (July 1st) from his first pop-up show stating, “Toby‘s first rehearsal turned into a 2 1/2 hour pop-up show. He sang all the hits plus the Bus Songs…Toby is back!”

His rehearsal apparently went as good as it could have because it turned into a 2 1/2 hour show and he decided to do it again the next day!

“It felt so right, Toby had to do it twice.”

Toby Keith posted a few snapshots of himself performing with longtime pal Scotty Emerick at Hollywood Corners Saturday night showing a huge smile. He is obviously back in his element. It looks like the “Should’ve Been A Cowboy” singer is slowly making a return only a year and a half after starting cancer treatment.

Keith recently shared his hopes of returning to the road this fall (2023) if his treatments continue to go well. While we know his battle with cancer isn’t over, he is making amazing improvements and we can only hope this means he will be back on the road in a few months.

For those who don’t know, Scotty Emerick is a song writer best known for co-writing some of Toby Keith’s biggest hits such as, “Beer for my Horses,” “I Love This Bar,” and “As Good As I Once Was.” Emerick has also co-written songs with Sawyer Brown, George Strait and others.
