‘Voice’ Coach Reveals This Season Is Their Last

TV Guide

Almost every season of The Voice has brought us a different variety of coaches. There’s been a total of 10 coaches rotating each season, with Adam Levine and Blake Shelton remaining the constants, as well as host Carson Daly, of course.

In an interview with TV Insider, Season 12’s Voice coaches talked about their highly talented contestants competing this year, which coach’s team is better, and what the future of the show looks like.

Gwen Stefani admitted that she thinks her team and Alicia Keys’ team are the ones to beat.

For me and Alicia, I would say our teams are next level,” she said.

While Keys said that the Tuesday elimination episodes make her want to quit the show, she is in it to win it.

Every Tuesday [elimination], I want to quit. I’m distraught,” she says. “Until the moment comes and either me or Gwen win…then it’s going to feel really good…As long as Gwen or I win, we both win.”

The question on everyone’s mind, besides who will be the winning coach this season, is always, “Which coaches are coming back next season?”

TV Insider asked Shelton, Levine, Keys, and Stefani how long they see themselves being on the show and one answer really surprised us – and the rest of the coaches!

Three basically said they’d be on the show as long as they could, but one coach revealed that this 12th season would be their last.

“This is my last season,” Keys revealed. “Who knows what the future holds, but I know this one is my final season.”

After some shocked reactions from Levine and Shelton, who were clearly upset by the news, Keys explained why she’s so adamant about winning this season.

I am excited for this; it’s like a finale for me. That’s why I’m so passionate about my team.”

We are sad to find out that this will be her final season on the show, but we’re so glad she did two seasons!  As previously reported, Miley Cyrus will return for Season 13 with Levine and Shelton, leaving one coaching chair open for someone else.
