Over the last four months, the young singer/songwriter has been battling the effects of a poisonous spider bite and the terrible symptoms that have stemmed from it – on top of that, this literal nightmare for her has resulted in a damaged section of skin on her face at the site of the bite mark.

Back in early February 2017, former ‘Voice’ finalist Meghan Linsey, shared with fans on social media the wild story of her encounter with a bite from a Brown Recluse spider, saying, I woke up to a stinging sensation on my face. I looked and in my right hand was a dead spider. Somehow while I was sleeping, a spider had bit me and I had killed it. This scenario is literally on the top of my nightmare list.”

In the months that have passed, she has regularly posted updates about the bite and how the wound is healing. Visibly, the area around the bite has turned from a red sore into what appeared to be an open wound, then scabbed over, and is now closed – with just a scar area showing. Linsey’s most recent update explains that she’s been very fortunate to have some cutting-edge treatments for the bite area and it has healed much more quickly than anticipated.

Many people are not aware just how bad a bite from a Brown Recluse spider is, and Linsey wanted to share her story with people in order to make them aware and educate them about the dangers of these spiders. Linsey has experienced some of the craziest symptoms beyond just the bite wound. Within the first week of being bitten, she says that she felt “excruciating nerve pain in [her] face, muscle spasms, full body rash, extreme swelling” and more.
