Season 17 of The Voice is going to be like unlike anything we’ve seen before. Mostly because this will mark the first season that Adam Levine is not a coach.

News broke of his sudden departure – after it had already been confirmed of his return – on May 24th of this year. Host Carson Daly revealed the news on The TODAY Show, and also revealed that Gwen Stefani would be taking his place.

We got our first look at the new foursome – Stefani, Kelly ClarksonJohn Legend, and Blake Shelton – when the show posted the season’s first promo photo on August 16, promoting the September 23rd premiere date.

As Voice fans know, after the Blind Auditions come the Battle Rounds where members of each team sing a duet together, with their coach choosing which singer will continue to the Knockout Round.

During this phase of competition, the coaches bring in an advisor to help them prepare the singers for their performance. Each year, the advisors are a surprise until just before the premiere date – and that day has finally come!

In a series of tweets, entertainment news outlets announced each coach’s advisor, the first being Kelly Clarkson’s. She will be working with singer, and fellow singing competition alum Normani. She competed previously on X-Factor and was in the girl group Fifth Harmony.

Next up was Gwen Stefani’s advisor, who is Black Eyed Peas member and music producer will.i.am!

John Legend is bringing back former coach Usher to help him out. Usher appeared on Season 4, won Season 6, and was an advisor during Season 8.

Blake Shelton, once again, pulled his contacts from the country music world and brought in Darius Rucker to be his advisor.
