Natalie Maines is clearly “Not Ready To Make Nice” anytime soon.
The Dixie Chicks lead singer is making waves – yet again – for expressing her political beliefs via Twitter.
She infamously announced at a concert in 2003, “We don’t want this war, this violence, and we’re ashamed that the president of the United States is from Texas.”
Of course, she was talking about then-President George W. Bush, who is from her home state of Texas. Her outburst caused a rift between them and fellow country stars including Reba McEntire and Toby Keith. As a result, many country music radio stations chose to stop playing their music.
The Dixie Chicks took an “indefinite hiatus” in 2006 and didn’t know if they’d ever tour in the U.S. again. That all changed in 2015, when they announced their 2016 world tour, making it the first time they tour in the United States in ten years.
Maines proved that she hadn’t changed her views when she blasted former presidential hopeful Ted Cruz for “claiming” to be American. The Chicks also included imagery of Republican nominee Donald Trump with devil horns on their tour and recently found out something that is forcing her to “rethink everything”.
Just recently, reports surfaced that President George H.W. Bush revealed he will be voting for Hilary Clinton.
“Even Bush won’t vote for Trump!” Maines wrote on Twitter. “Which honestly has kind of turned my world around and forced me to rethink everything.”
She also accompanied it with tweets regarding Trump’s decision making while president and voting for a candidate who will make the “airline industry decent again….But only if it’s Clinton.”
