Comparisons have been made to other infamous national anthem performances, such as Fergie’s 2018 rendition at the NBA All-Star Game, often considered one of the worst of all time. And although you’ve probably seen the much-talked-about performance, you might not know much about Ingrid Andress herself.

So, who is Ingrid Andress?

About Ingrid Andress

Ingrid Andress, a 32-year-old country singer and songwriter originally raised in Colorado, may not be remembered for delivering one of the best renditions of the national anthem, but her appearance at the Home Run Derby was likely a special moment for her, considering her father’s long career as a strength and conditioning coach for teams like the Tigers, Rockies, Mets, and the University of Michigan over the years.

Andress first gained attention when she appeared on the second season of NBC’s “The Sing-Off,” performing with the acapella group Pitch Slapped, and later returned for another season with the group Delilah.

In 2018, she signed with Warner Music Nashville and Atlantic Records, releasing her debut album, “Lady Like,” on March 27, 2020. Her sophomore album, “Good Person,” followed in 2022.

“Lady Like” was named one of Billboard’s Top 10 Best Country Albums of 2020 and became the highest-streaming debut album by a country female artist at the time of its release.

Andress has an impressive list of credentials, securing four Grammy nominations throughout her professional career, including nods for Best New Artist, Best Country Song, and Best Country Album.

In August 2021, she teamed up with Sam Hunt to release the hit track “Wishful Drinking.” The song reached number 4 on Country Airplay charts, earning Andress her fourth Grammy Award nomination for Best Country Duo/Group Performance at the 65th annual ceremony.

Ingrid is also an accomplished songwriter, having collaborated with popular artists like Bebe Rexha, Charli XCX, Alicia Keys, and Tori Kelly.
