Country music outlaw Willie Nelson shocked fans when he announced the cancellation of yet three more upcoming concerts on his in Willie Nelson and Family tour. Although expected to play in Bakersfield, CA on February 6, 7, and 8, Bakersfield.com regretfully announced that the legend will be unable to perform the events taking place at Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace due to “an undisclosed illness”. While the performances are said to eventually be rescheduled for a later date, ticket holders will be refunded their ticket price and updated on further information regarding future shows.
Nelson has been forced to cancel a handful of shows due to sporadic illnesses, said to affect his performing abilities. Fans were deeply saddened when, in January, the singer was unable to appear at the Venetian Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada for multiple weekend performances due to his health. Months prior during late 2016, Nelson also postponed multiple appearances back in November due to similar circumstances.
The 83-year-old recently broke news that he was set to release a new album, God’s Problem Child, on April 28th. The 3-disc LP will contain all original, never before heard compilations penned by Nelson and various music comrades. One jingle on the highly anticipated new release, titled “I’m Not Dead”, stemmed from comical inspiration, as Nelson admitted to Rolling Stone the genuine reasoning behind the tune. “Cause I’m still not dead. I got up two or three times in the last couple of years and read the paper where I’d passed away. So I just wanted to let ’em know that’s a lot of horseshit.”
While we’re aware that this country music legend is very much alive, his health scares have continued to worry his fans, both of whom planned to see the performer during a future appearance or simply hold the artist in a special, highly regarded place of mind.
Nelson’s beloved tour is expected to persist into the beginning of August, leaving fans worrisome that the country outlaw will be forced to continue with cancellations or possibly wrap up the coveted tour much earlier than expected. The final date listed on Nelson’s tour itinerary resides in Canada, leaving plenty more traveling for this incredibly spry and tenacious performer!
The “Always On My Mind” singer was recently given a decent role in buddy Woody Harrelson’s revolutionary film Lost in London. Capturing factual events that actor Harrelson encountered during a visit to London that resulted in a visit to a jail cell, this former experience was a live, one shot performance that raked in admirable views and gave its audience genuine laughs.
