The Gatlinburg SkyBridge located in Tennessee is the longest simple suspension bridge in North America and it’s about to open up a new scenic trail right on time for the leaves to be changing into beautiful colors.

It’s called the SkyTrail, and Gatlinburg SkyLift Park said, “The SkyTrail will be opening this Fall at the SkyLift Park… AND make sure to stay tuned next week when we will be announcing even BIGGER and better additions to the trail.”

Adding onto the already amazing Gatlinburg SkyBridge, the SkyTrail will be part of the trail that leads to the bridge. The SkyTrail will stretch a scenic 0.3 miles along the Crockett Mountain allowing visitors to enjoy the breath taking views of the Smoky Mountains.

“The trail will connect both sides of the SkyBridge and give everyone an opportunity to get more out of their scenic Smoky Mountain experience at the SkyLift Park,”  Gatlinburg SkyLift Park wrote on Facebook.

The SkyTrail is expected to be open to the public sometime this fall, though a specific date has not been given yet. In the meantime, the park has decided to throw an event on October 17th – 18th called the SkyWalk.

The SkyWalk is an event where professional tight-rope-walkers walk across a rope that stretches from one side of the valley to the other and it attracts many excited audience members.
