Donny Osmond Shares Childhood Photos With Marie In Honor Of Her Birthday

Marie Osmond was born just shy of two years after her brother, Donny. Because of their closeness in age, the two siblings developed a strong bond that has lasted throughout their lives.

While Donny joined his older brothers in the family’s singing group, The Osmonds, Marie wasn’t so sure about pursuing her own musical career. She eventually went on to become a singer as well, though she did branch off in her own direction as a country artist.

She became known for her cover of the song “Paper Roses.” It reached the #1 spot on the Hot Country Songs chart just one month after her 14th birthday.

Marie later went on to co-host a variety show with Donny that was appropriately titled Donny & Marie. The show ran from 1976-1979, and they also released a number of hit songs and albums during that time.

In more recent years, Donny and Marie became known for their longstanding residency at the Flamingo in Las Vegas. The residency started in 2008 and ended in 2019 when Donny and Marie made the decision to retire.

But even though their Vegas residency came to an end, Donny and Marie have kept busy. Marie served as a co-host on The Talk for one season and Donny competed on the first season of The Masked Singer as the Peacock (and came in second place!)

Although they’re not together as much as they used to be, Donny and Marie remain as close as ever. So when Marie’s 61st birthday rolled around on Tuesday (October 13), Donny made sure to write her a heartfelt message.

From childhood adventures and time on stage to our busy grown-up lives — I can’t imagine going through life without you, Marie!” Donny said.

He shared his birthday message alongside a series of photos, including several from when he and Marie were kids.

Celebrating a lifetime of happy, hilarious memories and looking forward to more adventures to come. I’m grateful that the special relationship we share continues to grow,” he ended his note.
