The Mega Cavern is located underground over 100 feet below highways, roadways, and the Louisville Zoo.

These enormous caverns were created by limestone quarry when miners blasted out a tremendous amount of rock from the early 1930s to the early 1970s. In the early 1960s, state officials made plans in case of a nuclear attack to house 50,000 people in the cavern because it’s a natural bomb shelter. It was acquired in 1989 by private investors who saw the potential to develop a portion of the cavern into an environmentally-conscious high-security commercial storage facility.

Now, the cave is used as one of the biggest attractions in the state of Kentucky. Nine high-powered 3D digital projectors make it look like zombies are coming after you, guaranteed to satisfy even the most extreme thrill-seekers.
