Country music fans continue to reel in the aftermath of international popstar, Beyoncé Knowles, inclusion in one of the genre’s most sacred nights. Many big names have spoken out against the performance, such as Travis Tritt releasing a statement, “We can stand on our own and don’t need pop artists on our awards shows.” Known for her tendency to go against the grain, Kacey Musgraves made the decision to let her opinion on Beyoncé’s performance be known.
In a red carpet interview with PEOPLE magazine, the country singer was asked if there’s any musical act she’s excited for, to which she replied, “Maybe a little Beyoncé….I mean all of them really. It’s going to be amazing.” The country singer even admitted that she watched the visual album for Beyoncé’s latest album, Lemonade, a whopping seven times.
“At the time I wasn’t even with anybody and I was like somebody’s cheating on me!” Musgraves continued in reference to the album’s depiction of Beyoncé overcoming the possible betrayal of husband Jay-Z.
The Texas native’s support of the popstar should come as no surprise considering her tightly bound relationship with Katy Perry, even opening for the popstar on select dates of her 2014 international world tour.
