The 49-year-old actress said that a new addition to their family would be warmly welcomed – especially by her, a woman who adores the bond of motherhood and just loves children.

Opening up in an interview with Baz Bamigoboye for The Daily Mail, Nicole Kidman explains how deep her love for children runs and that even though she has four children already, she and country singer husband, Keith Urban, are very much open to the possibility of adopting.

Kidman has two children with Urban, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret. While Nicole gave birth to Sunday herself . Faith was born through surrogacy in 2010. She also has two children from her previous marriage to fellow actor Tom Cruise. Her children with Cruise were both adopted and are now in their early 20s.

Having been with Urban for more than a decade now, Kidman laughed about her two little girls and revealed that while they are both keeping she and Urban busy, added “But you never say never about children, do you?”

The notion of adopting with Urban comes shortly after finishing her 2016 film, Lion, in which she plays the adoptive mother of a child who wandered nearly 1000 miles from his biological family’s home.

It was when she very first read through the screenplay that she knew she would be doing the movie, saying, “Of course, when I choose things I have to be emotionally connected. And with this, I was – through the adoption.”

This isn’t the first time she’s spoken up about adding to her family with Urban and in one 2015 interview with Women in the World, Kidman gushed over the possibility of having more children.

“I’m a mother that’s experienced motherhood through many different avenues now,” Kidman says of her four children. “I love children…I love children.”

While Kidman is obviously very much open to having more children in her lifetime, how does her husband feel about it? He’s definitely on board, she says, explaining that they haven’t ruled out the possibility of more.

In the film, Lion, Kidman plays a Tasmanian woman named Sue Brierley who, along with her husband, travel to Calcutta to adopt the lost child. From that, she reiterates her connection to the storyline on a deep level.

“Also, there’s the power of the unconditional love that a mother gives. A mother is there, whether it’s Sue Brierley in the film, or me with my children.”

We cannot wait to see when and if these two grow their already beautiful family and we are happy to hear Kidman gush about her love for her children.
