‘Voice’ Champion Finally Releases New Music

NBC

Almost a year after she was crowned winner of Season 10 of The Voice, Alisan Porter is finally coming out with new music. She and her coach made history since a female coach had never won The Voice, but with her being on Christina Aguilera’s team, the all-male streak was finally broken!

Porter wowed all the judges with her incredible rendition of “Blue Bayou” during her Blind Audition, and continued to be the frontrunner throughout the competition with her solid performances of “California Dreamin'”, “Cry Baby”, “River”, “Desperado”, and “You’ve Got A Friend”.

Each of the finalists were given a single to release if they were crowned the victor and Porter’s, titled “Down That Road” appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Following her epic Voice win, Porter has stayed relatively quiet about upcoming projects – until now. The Voice‘s official Twitter revealed that the powerhouse vocalist will be returning to the show on Tuesday (May 2) to debut her brand new single.

New music took Porter’s fans by surprise, since they didn’t even know she was recording! A few days before making the first live performance of “Deep Water”, Porter released the single to iTunes.

“This song means the world to me,” she wrote on Instagram, announcing the song.
