What Is The Road About, And When Does It Premiere?
The Road was already a star-studded affair, but now five additional country artists are coming along for the ride.
The Road is a new competition series coming to CBS this fall. Debuting on Sunday, October 19, the series will follow 12 aspiring singers on a trek across America. They’ll learn what it takes to be a touring artist and see if they’re cut out for a life on the road.
Each contestant will open for the series’ headliner, country music superstar Keith Urban. They’ll also be mentored by “tour manager” Gretchen Wilson.
A live audience will determine which singers advance to the next cities on tour. The contestants are competing for a grand prize of $250,000 and a recording contract.
Urban serves as a co-executive producer on the series alongside fellow country star Blake Shelton, David Glasser, Lee Metzger, and Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan.
See The Other Country Stars Who’ll Be Special Guests On The Road
On Thursday (September 4), Paramount and CBS announced that five more country stars are joining the cast of The Road. These artists will serve as “special guest advisors” to the contestants competing on the show.
Jordan Davis, Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild, Dustin Lynch, Brothers Osborne’s TJ Osborne, and Brothers Osborne’s John Osborne are joining Urban, Shelton, and Wilson on the show.
