1. He Grew Up On A Farm
While his father tended to their family run a convenience store, Urban would spend his days taking care of the animals on the farm. That’s right, the soon-to-be country superstar grew up collecting eggs from the chickens as well as cleaning out the pigsty.
2. Wife Nicole Kidman Isn’t His First Famous Partner With That Name
Prior to marrying Nicole Kidman, Urban dated supermodel Niki Taylor, born Nicole Renee Taylor, and even featured her in his music video for “Somebody Like You.”
The pair had a quiet separation and she went on to marry NASCAR driver Burney Lamar.
3. “Suburban” Was His Childhood Nickname
Back when the singer was growing up still “learning everything he needed to know,” his childhood nickname was Suburban due to being the youngest of two brothers. As in Sub-Urban. Get it? Suburban, the lesser of two Urbans.
4. He Was Once Guitarist To Brooks and Dunn
Upon moving to Nashville, Urban scored a steady job working as a road guitarist for Brooks and Dunn as well as the Dixie Chicks.

6. He’s A High School Dropout
Not many people would expect that the wild advocate for the public school music program, Music Makes Us, actually never graduated high school. In fact, Urban dropped out at the young age of 15 to pursue a career in music.
7. He Bowls At A Professional Level
Urban’s favorite hobby is bowling. We would say his second favorite hobby, but because music is his career, it doesn’t count as one! In addition to bowling, he also enjoys playing a few rounds of billiards.
