Preparing to take Las Vegas by storm for another whirlwind residency with his former singing partner, Kix Brooks is opening up about what it feels like to reunite after almost a decade-long break.
The iconic country duo, Brooks & Dunn, soared across the charts throughout the 1990s and 2000s with a seemingly endless number of hits and memorable collaborations until they chose to call it quits in 2010. In the years that have passed, Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn have each branched out in various new directions sparking solo careers and trying their hand at fun, new forms of entertainment – like acting.
Kix is opening up to People Magazine about what it feels like to get back on the stage with his old pal, Ronnie, for their residency revival with Reba McEntire.
Previously, Kix had cleared the air regarding the duo’s split in 2010 that broke fan’s hearts, saying, “There was never a rift…We [broke up] because we’d been doing it for over 20 years and felt like we’d accomplished everything that we could.”
Heading back onto the stage for sound check and rehearsals with his longtime singing partner, Kix revealed that they took about 15 minutes to get warmed up before they took off for the day because it all came back so quick and natural for them.
“It’s like riding a bicycle. Both of us — after 20 years of playing night after night after night after night together — we smile at each other across the stage now and go, ‘Yep, here we go again,’ ” He said.
It’s amazing to hear how quickly these two acclimated to being back on the stage again and we can’t wait to see their show with Reba in Vegas!
