After their smash-hit duet took the world of country music by storm, fans of Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani were left wondering if they would be heading into the recording studio for a follow-up to “Go Ahead and Break My Heart.” Now with the country singer’s No.1 album If I’m Honest nearing its one year anniversary, Shelton is spilling the beans on his plans for future music.
While walking the red carpet with Voice costar Alicia Keys, the two singers talked all things music, including whether or not they would be returning to the singing series. After detailing what fans can expect from her new upcoming album, Keys poked fun at Shelton’s music, teasing he always puts out the “same old crap.”
So what can fans exactly expect from the country singer? Could new music with Stefani be on the horizon? It sounds like it!
“Man, I hope so!” responded Shelton when asked if he will be writing again with the “Misery” singer. “That last album I made I said that was going to be my last album. This next album I’m making is probably gonna be my last album. So I really gotta decide what I wanna do…This is probably gonna be my last season on this show. I don’t do entertainment anymore, kids.”
While it can be hard to tell if the country singer is serious about whether or not his next album will be his last, we think it’s safe to say music from Shelton and Stefani is definitely in the works!
