He may be the “bad boy” of the modern country generation, but Brantley Gilbert is proving he has as soft spot for one person only – his wife of one year, Amber Cochran.
They were married at his home in Georgia on June 28, 2015, but their love story began ten years prior when they met in church. After five years together, they broke up and five years after that, they found their way back to one another.
“She was the one who got away,” he admitted to Bobby Bones, a popular radio host in Nashville.
During their time apart, Gilbert wrote the hit songs “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do”and “More Than Miles” as well as a few others about her.
Gilbert and Cochran got their happy ever after and a year after they tied the knot, they couldn’t be happier. When talking to a Country 97.1 HANK FM radio host, Gilbert was asked about the first year of his marriage and he couldn’t stop smiling!
“[Married life] is awesome,” he gushes. “I have an awesome wife. I cherish my wife and I’m proud to be her husband. She’s not here today. She’s working on the house at home, but she’s supposed to fly out later this week.”
He reveals that she is usually on the road with him, but since they are adding on to their house in Georgia and building a cottage on Gilbert’s farm in Alabama, she is home more than usual.
He admitted, “She decided she want to take those projects over!”
Sounds like she’s got her hands full, but her husband sure loves her for it. Watch the interview below.
