Brett Young Teams Up With Boyz II Men For Sexy “Here Tonight” Collaboration

CMT

Earlier this year, CMT broke down walls with a revolutionary new program concept that brought together some of country music’s hottest acts and paired them with musicians from other genres.

Zac Brown Band teamed up with pop star Shawn Mendes, Brett Eldredge collaborated with Meghan Trainor, and Brett Young shared the stage with R & B supergroup Boyz II Men. During Wednesday night’s CMT Music Awards, Young teamed up with Boyz II Men for an encore performance that had everyone swooning.

Brett Young is known for his smooth ballads “In Case You Didn’t Know” and “Mercy.” And, Boyz II Men rocked the ’90s with their sexy, soulful quartet ballad “Down On Bended Knee,” “I’ll Make Love To You,” and “End Of The Road.” It was a match made in heaven when these award-winning acts teamed up. And, for Young, it only made sense that he would join the ’90s hitmakers since they were highly influential in his development as an artist.

“Boyz II Men was so present and prevalent in my life when I started writing songs,” the singer told CMT. “Every once in a while, when you guys sing your solos I can tell who’s who, but when you’re singing together, it’s like who’s doing what right now? It pushed me as a singer before I even knew it was doing that.”

While most fans of country music frown upon artists of other genres sharing the stage with country acts, the collaboration between Brett Young and Boyz II Men garnered praise from fans young and old. Their soulful rendition of Young’s hit “Here Tonight” made us fall in love with the song all over again.
