Carly Pearce Dropped Hint About Derby Day Performance
Last week, CMA and Grammy-winning artist Carly Pearce shared a short video on Instagram that got fans talking. The clip shows her unboxing a fancy red hat and placing it on top of her head. She gives the camera a quick wink before the video ends.
Of course, fans immediately thought about the upcoming Kentucky Derby on May 6. That hat looks perfect for the Derby!
Though Pearce left no doubt about where she plans to wear the elaborate hat. She mentioned the Derby in her caption, writing, “mmm what could this mean?? Place your bets below for what it could be…#KentuckyDerby #KD149 #KyDerby.”

Right! Carly Pearce Is Singing The Anthem At This Year’s Derby
Fans’ bets were correct. On Tuesday (April 25), Pearce confirmed she’s performing the National Anthem at the Kentucky Derby this year.
This opportunity means the world to Pearce as a Kentucky native. She’s from the city of Taylor Mill.
Pearce wrote:
“Being from Kentucky, this is a major bucket list moment for me! I’m so excited to announce I will be performing the National Anthem at the 149th @kentuckyderby. Tune in to NBC on May 6 to catch my performance ahead of the Run for the Roses®”
