Newly crowned ACM Female Artist of the Year Carly Pearce performed on Tuesday (March 29) during the Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival. The performance was held at 3rd & Lindsley Bar & Grill in Nashville.

Pearce joined songwriters Josh Kear, Chris Tompkins, and Matt Stell for the performance. In case you didn’t know, Kear and Tompkins wrote Carrie Underwood‘s #1 hit “Before He Cheats,” which was released in 2006.

Kear and Tompkins later won the Grammy Award for Best Country song for writing “Before He Cheats.” Underwood herself won the Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance.

It only made sense for Kear and Tompkins to perform “Before He Cheats” at Tin Pan South. It also made sense that they wanted Pearce to jump in and sing some of the song too.

A Carly Pearce fanpage on Twitter called Carly P Connect shared a short video of Pearce singing a portion of “Before He Cheats.”

At one point near the end of the song Pearce commented that she’s “not Carrie Underwood.” But she delivered a fierce performance we’re sure Underwood would be proud of!
