Carrie Underwood and Jason Aldean released a new duet in July. Titled “If I Didn’t Love You,” the song has the two artists singing about feeling heartbroken after a failed relationship.

Underwood and Aldean released an official music video for “If I Didn’t Love You” in September.

The song soared to the top of Country Airplay chart the week of October 25. Underwood congratulated Aldean on their shared accomplishment, saying:

“Congrats on the country radio #1, @jasonaldean! Thank you for inviting me to be a part of this song, and thanks so much to our fans who have shown it so much love!

Days after “If I Didn’t Love You” went #1, the CMA announced that Underwood and Aldean would perform the song live during its awards ceremony on November 10.

Underwood said she couldn’t wait for the performance, which would be “the world TV premiere” of her and Aldean’s duet. Fans were equally excited to finally see them perform “If I Didn’t Love You” together live.

When it was time for Underwood and Aldean to sing during the CMA Awards, their performance lived up to fans’ expectations.

The duo started off on separate parts of the stage. Slowly, Aldean made his way over to Underwood so they could sing the end of the song side by side.

For it being the first time the duo ever sang “If I Didn’t Love You” live, they knocked it out of the park! If you didn’t know any better, you’d assume they’ve been performing the song together for years.
