We’re sure many of you have been there…you’re cruising down the road, maybe running a bit late, so you push the pedal to the metal just a bit more than usual. At first, it seems like a good way to make up lost time. But later, you come to regret your decision when a police cruiser pulls up behind you, lights flashing.
Most of us know what it’s like to be pulled over, and it’s never an enjoyable experience. In fact, it can be quite embarrassing, especially for those who normally consider themselves to be law-abiding citizens.
Embarrassment is the exact emotion Carrie Underwood felt when she ended up getting pulled over while driving somewhere on Monday morning (January 29). She admitted her mistake on social media, saying that she felt “so ashamed” that she was pulled over for speeding.
At 34 years old, Underwood has been driving for 18 years, and was never pulled over before this incident. The fact that she had never been pulled over before made the experience all the more humiliating for Underwood.
Underwood was so upset and embarassed about the whole ordeal that she said she cried, but only after the officer let her go on her way. “I may or may not have cried in my car after the cop let me go,” she wrote.
She ended her tweet with a series of hashtags, including one that said “#GrannyDriver.” We have a good feeling that Underwood will certainly be driving a little slower from now on!
Well, it happened today. After 18 years, I can no longer say I’ve never been pulled over for speeding. I feel so ashamed! I may or may not have cried in my car after the cop let me go. #RuleFollower #GrannyDriver #ImSorry

Underwood has experienced a bit of bad luck in recent months, as she fell at her Nashville home in November. The fall was so bad that she required surgery on her wrist and had to get 40-50 stitches in her face.
But Underwood has also experienced some triumphant times as well. She recently debuted a new song, titled “The Champion,” which was crafted as a special anthem for the Super Bowl this year. The song, which showcases Underwood’s powerhouse vocals, will also be used as an anthem for the Winter Olympics.
You can listen to “The Champion” in the clip below. After being pulled over, maybe Underwood could cheer herself up by listening to the song. It’s quite inspiring!
