The 15-time most-popular NASCAR driver is back at it again!

Just months after announcing he was retiring from full-time racing in NASCAR’s Cup Series, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is surprising fans by putting a new race on his schedule for 2018.

Along with his own JR Motorsports team, Dale Jr. will be spotted on the track at least once this fall – and he’s trying to add more!

In a statement on Twitter, and reported in a blog post by his team, JRM, Dale Jr. reveals what kind of racing he’s going to do and exactly what the parameters are – he also revealed which 2018 race is already booked!

“Right now I just have the fall Richmond Raceway race on my schedule. Want to do more,” he wrote.

Dale Jr. had already committed to racing in two NASCAR Xfinity Series races this year, and it’s unclear if this will be one of those two – or if this is a third he’s signed on for.

Continuing on, he explained what was on the table for him, “Offering sponsorship packages that include one event with me in addition to 8-10 events with our 4 other cars.”

It sounds like Dale Jr. is antsy to get behind the wheel again for various partnerships that his team works out. Nobody has made a statement about just how many races he’s looking to add to the schedule, but if this tweet isn’t referencing his already-planned two races, it could mean we’ll see him at least four times.
