Carrie & Mike Keep Kids Out Of Spotlight

When Carrie Underwood and her husband, Mike Fisher, welcomed their second son, Jacob, on January 21, fans weren’t expecting to see many, if any photos of their new bundle of joy.

That’s because when their first child, Isaiah, was born in February 2015, the couple only shared a photo of part of his face and one of his hands.

As Isaiah has grown, Carrie and Mike have been more willing to post photos of him, but still don’t always like to show his face.

We’ve Hardly Seen Jacob At All

So when Jacob was born, fans were expecting a similar face-covering photo to the one that Carrie shared when Isaiah was born. But much to everyone’s surprise, Carrie shared three photos of Jacob that all clearly show his face.

Mike also shared a photo of their new bundle of joy, which shows his face as well.

While Carrie and Mike broke their typical protocol to announce Jacob’s birth, they’ve since followed the same pattern they’ve maintained with Isaiah. Even though Jacob was born three months ago, the two have only offered one other glimpse at him.

That glimpse came in February, when Mike filmed a short clip of Carrie singing a funny “Happy Birthday” serenade to Isaiah at his birthday party. Carrie was holding Jacob at the time, but you can’t see him that well.

Other than that short video, we hadn’t seen Jacob since he was born in January!

Jacob’s First Public Photo Since Birth

Finally, Carrie took to Instagram and shared the first photo of Jacob that anyone has seen in months. The adorable snapshot actually reminds us of Isaiah’s birth announcement photo, as it only shows Jacob’s tiny baby feet and toes.

Want. To. Eat. These. Toes.” Carrie wrote in the caption. Her famous friends understand completely, with fellow country singer Jessie James Decker commenting “Just do it,” and Carrie’s personal trainer Erin Opera writing, “Nothing like baby feet!!!

Even though the photo doesn’t show Jacob’s face, it still makes us so happy to see! Hopefully Carrie and Mike will be willing to share another photo of him sometime soon.

After Isaiah was born, Carrie collected a number of never-before-seen photos to share with her fans in a video to accompany her song “What I Never Knew I Always Wanted.” The video played during her Storyteller tour, and she later released it online. Check that out below to see some early photos of Isaiah that you won’t find anywhere else.

Who knows, maybe Carrie will end up doing the same thing with photos of Jacob one day?
