It’s not every day that artists can expect a surprise dial from one of Nashville’s most beloved stars but for one very special reason, Carrie Underwood did just that.
The Big Night
As country music’s biggest night is right around the corner, stars are gearing up for one eventful night. The 54th annual Academy of Country Music Awards are going down on April 7th, with a whirlwind of incredible titles to be given out. With Chris Stapleton and Dan + Shay up for six nominations and several other artists not far behind, it is sure to be a fun night.

But a few lucky artists have found out about their big win early. One of those awards being the ACM New Female Artist of The Year. The nominees included Danielle Bradbery, Lindsay Ell, Ashley McBryde, and Carly Pearce. In a well-deserved fashion, winner Ashley McBryde got a call from Underwood to find out about her honor.
New Female Artist Of The Year
Over the weekend, McBryde was just hanging out with friends when she received a call that flew her to cloud nine. As McBryde answered she was quickly greeted with a cheerful Underwood. The singer being seemingly confused, Underwood explained,
“I wish I was there to deliver this news to you in person…” Underwood paused. “You, miss, are the ACM New Female Artist of The Year!”
McBryde’s priceless reaction made the moment even more special as she responded, “You’re kidding!”
After exchanging some congratulations and thank yous with Underwood, McBryde couldn’t keep a smile off her face. Following the phone call, she was completely in awe! A much-deserved award.
The New Girl In Town
McBryde has been up and coming on the country music scene for a while but her latest album Girl Going Nowhere really took the world by storm. Nominated for a Grammy award for Best Country Album, this Arkansas-native is making quite the name for herself. The singer/songwriter was even invited by The King of Country himself, George Strait, to play at his one-night-only show on April 30th in Atlanta.
