Most everyone knows you’re not supposed to feed wild animals but what do you do if they’re bigger than you and they want your food? Such is the case for one particular group of young folks who were out trying to enjoy a picnic in the woods.
A video circulating the internet shows a group of five people sitting down at a picnic table while a massive black bear waits patiently for some food. One member in the group tells the bear to wait then proceeds to calmly make a peanut butter sandwich. The bear has some pretty good manners, it sits quietly while the individual spreads a thick glob of peanut butter all over a piece of bread, and lets the bear eat it right out of his hand.
It’s to nobody’s surprise that a thirty-rack of beer is also on the table.
Although the bear seemed calm throughout the entire incident, it was obviously risky. Black bears stand 2 to 3 feet at shoulders, 4 to 7 feet long from nose to tail, and weigh anywhere between 150 to 400 pounds. If you come across a black bear at close range, the typical advice is to refrain from running, and retreat slowly, while still facing the bear.
