Every time Chris Stapleton steps on stage, he can feel reassured by the fact that he will never be alone. He’s got a rockin’ band to back him up and a talented background singer who always stands by his side.
That background singer is none other than his wife, Morgane. Her voice can be heard throughout Chris’ Grammy-winning album Traveller, especially on the romantic track “More of You.”
In 2015, Chris and Morgane sat down with NPR to perform a stripped-down version of the song. We loved it as it was on Traveller, but this version instantly took our breath away.
Standing in front of a bunch of bookshelves, Chris opened the song by strumming on his acoustic guitar. That guitar is the only sound that Chris and Morgane had to back them up for their entire duet, leaving the raw beauty of their voices exposed.
But honestly, these two didn’t even need the guitar, because their powerful voices carried the whole tune. Chris started off singing on his own, but the best part came when Morgane joined him on the chorus. Whenever these two blend their voices together the resulting sound is magical, and this duet is no exception.
Plus, you can’t ignore the look of pure love in the couples’ eyes as they sing about goodnight kisses and the years they’ve spent together. Does it get any more romantic than that?
Tune in below to watch Chris and Morgane’s stunning acoustic performance of “More of You.” We’re sure you’ll fall in love with it just like we have!
