You can always count on Chris Stapleton to deliver a show-stopping performance during an awards ceremony.

Stapleton participated in a large medley performance during the 2023 Grammy Awards honoring Berry Gordy and Smokey Robinson. He popped in at the end of the medley to perform Stevie Wonder’s “Higher Ground.” Stapleton was joined onstage by Wonder himself.

The two superstar singers brought everyone to their feet with their outstanding performance. As the camera panned through the audience, you could see Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, and many other celebrities enjoying the performance.

People watching at home were equally amazed by Stapleton and Wonder’s collaboration:

“I did not know I needed Chris Stapleton and Stevie Wonder together on stage. But i did!!!” wrote one Twitter user.

Another person tweeted, “Stevie Wonder and Chris Stapleton singing “Higher Ground” together was such a great choice.”

Someone else said, “This Stevie, Smoky, Chris Stapleton jam session is insanely good..”

“THAT STEVIE WONDER, SMOKEY ROBINSON AND CHRIS STAPLETON PERFORMANCE WAS PHENOMENAL!!!” another viewer commented.

One Twitter user wrote, “Chris Stapleton and Stevie Wonder together is a fantastic combo.”

Another response was, “Might just have been my fave #GRAMMYs performance in a LONG time. Chris Stapleton & Stevie Wonder.”

You can see what all of the fuss was about by watching the video of Stapleton’s Grammys performance below. The video only includes the guitar solo portion of the performance…but we’ll update this article as soon as the video of the full performance is available.

Stapleton sure knows how to bring down the house!
