CMT Music Awards Nominees Announced

On Wednesday, September 23, CMT announced the nominees for the 2020 CMT Music Awards.

For the first time, the nominees were announced through social media by Luke Bryan and Ashley McBryde in short videos posted to the CMT Instagram page.

Luke Combs, Thomas Rhett, Dan + Shay, Sam Hunt, Ashley McBryde, and Kelsea Ballerini lead the 2020 CMT Music Awards nominations with three each.

Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Gabby Barrett, Kane Brown, Little Big Town, Blanco Brown, Old Dominion, and The Chicks also received nominations in multiple categories.

This is The Chicks’ first CMT Awards nomination since 2007.

CMT Awards first-time nominees include Caylee Hammack, Gabby Barrett, Travis Denning, Ingrid Andress, Blanco Brown, and Riley Green.

The award show is set to air on October 21 at 8 p.m. ET.

The CMT Music Awards bills themselves as “country music’s only entirely fan-voted awards show.” You can place your vote now by clicking here → vote.cmt.com.  Voting will conclude on October 12.
