Cody Johnson and Carrie Underwood Share Studio Visualizer for “I’m Gonna Love You”
Cody Johnson and Carrie Underwood are giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of their duet, “I’m Gonna Love You.”
In September, Johnson and Underwood released their first-ever duet together after a year of teasing fans. “I’m Gonna Love You” is a beautiful love song that is the lead single from Johnson’s Leather: Deluxe Edition album.
The song was originally written in 2019 but wasn’t intended to be a duet. Once it was offered to Johnson, he realized it would be more powerful with a female voice harmonizing with him. Although they had never worked together before, Johnson knew right away that Underwood was the perfect (and only) collaborator he wanted for the track.
“It was a non-negotiable for me; either we sing it together, or I wouldn’t sing it at all. It’s that special to me,” Johnson had said in a statement. “Working with Carrie has been an absolute pleasure. She’s not only one hell of a singer, but she’s a class act all the way around. It warms my heart to work with someone who’s seen so much success in their career and they’re still so down to earth.”

Johnson was absolutely right about Underwood being a great fit for the song. “I’m Gonna Love You” quickly climbed the charts, peaking at No. 11 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. The music video has also been a hit, racking up over 7.5 million views.
The duo even pulled off a surprise performance of the song at the 58th Annual CMA Awards. They took the stage to sing the track live for the very first time, catching the audience completely off guard!
Now, they’ve surprised fans once again. On Thursday, January 16, Johnson and Underwood released the studio visualizer for “I’m Gonna Love You.”
The video features clips of Johnson and Underwood working together in the studio, giving fans a peak at the effort they put into bringing their duet to life.
