Cody Johnson and his family made special memories together as they gave fans a peek into their Texas-style holiday celebration in the first-ever CMT Presents: A Cody Johnson Christmas.

For the special that aired Wednesday night (December 13), Cody performed a setlist of songs from his 2021 Christmas album that included classic favorites and holiday hits made popular by country legends like Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson.

One of the most special moments of the night came when Cody was joined on stage by his two daughters, Clara Mae (7) and Cori (5). The trio sang the Christmas classic “Silent Night,” a moment Cody said his daughters were excited about.

“They’re little hams so they were obviously excited,” Johnson said before revealing his daughters’ one hope for the tv special. “Is Lainey Wilson gonna be there?” he said they asked.

Johnson added that he expected his daughters to be more nervous about singing on camera, but they surprised him and “nailed it. It’s been so great.”

Clara Mae and Cori also sang the song with their dad for his album, A Cody Johnson Christmas.

Other special guests appeared on Wednesday’s CMT show, including Cody’s parents, Sheila and Carl,  who joined him to sing “Away In A Manger” and fellow Texas country singers Kevin Fowler and Roger Creager who joined him to conclude the show with “Feliz Navidad.”

The rest of the night’s set list included “Christmas All Year Long,” “Hat Made of Mistletoe,” “If We Make It Through December,” “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” “Pretty Paper,” “Santa Claus is Back In Town,” “White Christmas” and “I’ll Be Home For Christmas.”

“Silent Night” was written more than 200 years ago and is the world’s most recorded Christmas song. Hear Cody Johnson and his daughters sing the holiday classic for his A Cody Johnson Christmas album in the video below.
