Artem Chigvintsev Of Dancing With The Stars Fame Arrested
Artem Chigvintsev, a professional dancer known for his work on Dancing with the Stars, has been arrested and booked into a Napa County jail.
Variety reports that Chigvintsev’s arrest occurred:
“…on Thursday morning [August 29] on suspicion of domestic violence.”
The publication reports that the dancer was booked “on a felony domestic violence charge,” specifically penal code 272.5(a). This makes it “illegal to injure a spouse, cohabitant or fellow parent in an act of domestic violence.”
Variety states Chigvintsev’s bail was posted at $25,000.
42-year-old Chigvintsev has been married to WWE alum Nikki Garcia (aka Nikki Bella) since August 26, 2022. Garcia also stars on Barmageddon alongside Blake Shelton and Voice host Carson Daly.
The couple started dating after dancing together on Season 25 of Dancing with the Stars in 2019. They welcomed a son, Matteo, on July 31, 2020.
Chigvintsev’s History On Dancing With The Stars
Chigvintsev first competed as a pro on Dancing With the Stars during Season 19. He competed on a total of 12 seasons, winning Season 29 with Kaitlyn Bristowe.
Some of the dancer’s other celebrity partners include Patti LaBelle, Maureen McCormick, Nancy Kerrigan, and Charity Lawson.
Variety confirmed that Chigvintsev will not appear on Season 33 of Dancing with the Stars. The new season starts on September 17.
