The claws are back out! Following a blind audition during Monday (March 12) night’s airing of The Voice, a talented contestant sparked an all out war between coaches and longtime friends Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.
Never afraid to shy away from a challenge, Levine enthusiastically turned for Jordan Kirkdorffer, a dreamy country boy who wowed the audience with his charming take on Brett Young’s “In Case You Didn’t Know.”
“Just tell me, do I have a chance?” Levine asked the talented singer.
“Well there’s always a chance,” responded the contestant.
Shelton then took over to deliver his please, giving Levine a few sarcastic lessons in country music. Levine then made the argument that while Shelton is a country singer, his Voice wins aren’t exclusively country singers.
However, despite Levine’s fierce arguement on his behalf, Kirkdorffer went on to choose Team Blake.
“In Case You Didn’t Know” was co-written and recorded by Young for his self-titled debut album. After the song’s release it stayed at No.2 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs for a record-breaking 42 weeks, however, it was kept out of the top spot by Sam Hunt‘s history-making “Body Like a Back Road.”
