Dwight Yoakam Reveals What It Was Really Like Performing With Carrie Underwood

Dwight Yoakam and Carrie Underwood teamed up for a memorable duet at the CMA Summer Jam, and it seems fans were not the only ones who were a little starstruck.

Following the performance, Yoakam took to Instagram to share his experience singing alongside Underwood. In the post, he thanked the “Drinking Alone” singer for sharing the stage with him. The country star also remarked that he had never performed with a “more talented duet partner.” He also complimented Underwood’s glittery cowboy hat.

“Thank you for being so graciously generous in inviting me to share the stage and do two of my songs with you during your show. As I said last night, I haven’t had a more talented duet partner to sing and perform with,” Yoakam gushed. 

The singer and actor also admitted that the duet was a performance that he would always “cherish.” Yoakam continued:

“It was an honor and sheer pleasure to do them with you and your band. It’s a musical memory that I will cherish.”
