Back in 2014, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star Alfonso Ribeiro won Season 19 of Dancing with the Stars. His professional partner was Witney Carson.
Duck Dynasty star Sadie Robertson finished in second place.
Ribeiro returned as a guest during DWTS‘ 25th season in 2017. He danced alongside his former partner Carson and her then-current contestant, actor Frankie Muniz.
Now, Ribeiro will be returning to the ballroom once more, but in a different capacity.
There’s been quite the shakeup in the DWTS world over the years. For starters, the show moved from having two seasons a year to just one season per year.
Also, in 2019 the show parted ways with its longtime host Tom Bergeron and his co-host Erin Andrews. Bergeron served as the host since Season 1, while Andrews had been hosting since Season 18. Their last season was Season 28.
Starting in Season 29, Tyra Banks took over as the sole host of DWTS. But now, Banks is getting a co-host. And that co-host is Ribeiro!

Disney+ announced on Thursday (July 14) that Ribeiro will co-host DWTS‘ upcoming 31st season with Banks. The reason why Disney+ shared this news is because starting this season, DWTS will no longer air on ABC. Instead, new episodes will be available to stream on the Disney+ service.
Ribeiro is somewhat familiar with hosting DWTS. He previously stepped up as a guest host during Season 21 when Bergeron was unable to be there.
The actor also has experience hosting another show that was formerly hosted by Bergeron. Ribeiro is the current host of America’s Funniest Home Videos, which Bergeron famously hosted from 2001-2015.
Ribeiro has previous experience working with Banks as well. She made her acting debut in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and appeared in seven episodes of the show’s fourth season.
No start date for DWTS‘ 31st season has been revealed at this time. We’re anxious to see what the show will be like with all of these recent changes!
