At the very last minute, the band posted to social media explaining that all but one of their members was ready and able to perform – and just shortly after rumors began swirling about the reason why.
The Turnpike Troubadours, of whom Evan Felker is the lead singer, pulled out of the final shows on Miranda Lambert’s Bandwagon Tour with Little Big Town due to “serious family emergencies.” But, that’s where the rumors started.

Miranda Lambert’s romantic connection to Evan Felker began while he was still married to Staci Felker. Throughout this tabloid-headline drama, Staci shared multiple instances in which she alleges that they both were calling her about what happened. During this time, they had already begun divorce proceedings.
Fast forward a few weeks and the dust settled. Then, news of Evan Felker’s band, The Turnpike Troubadours, pulling out of Lambert’s tour broke – and people started to get suspicious.

On August 24th, just one day after The Turnpike Troubadours announced they were exiting the tour for “serious family emergencies,” Miranda Lambert gave an interview with The Tennessean in which she stated she’s now “happily single.”
Now, just as the Troubadours were supposed to be playing a show on Sunday night (August 26th), they canceled last-minute, citing Evan Felker’s “medical issue” but explaining that all the other band members were ready and able to play.
“Unfortunately due to a medical emergency Turnpike Troubadours will be unable to perform tonight at Fayetteville Roots Festival,” the band said on Instagram. “The band was present and prepared to play, but after evaluation, it was advised that Evan Felker should not perform tonight due to pain associated with the inability to pass a kidney stone he has been struggling with since earlier in the week. We sincerely apologize to the fans and festival staff for this unfortunate situation.”
There are plenty of fan theories why Evan Felker pulled out – including far too many that suggest this is an incident related to his quasi-relationship with Miranda Lambert.

Unfortunately, both Evan Felker is missing a chance to do what he loves and fans are missing out on some great music. We are praying he makes a quick recovery and look forward to his next performance.
