Sunday night (June 16), Carrie Underwood wowed her Indianapolis, Indiana crowd with a fun-filled set. She performed hit songs from her almost 15-year career including “Good Girl,” “Church Bells,” “Jesus, Take The Wheel,” “Before He Cheats,” and many more.
But right before she performed “Before He Cheats,” she sang her empowering anthem “The Champion,” which she recorded with rapper Ludacris in 2018.
While she was preparing for her Cry Pretty Tour 360, Underwood knew she wanted to include that song, but would need someone to perform the rap each night. Instead of bringing a rapper on tour with her, she announced that she would be bringing up a fan each night to help her out.
St. Louis! How about I sing and you do the rap on #TheChampion with me live on the #CryPrettyTour360? Let’s honor your inspirations together in a city near you! Details: www.CarrieUnderwood.fm/championcontest

For Sunday’s show at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, she not only brought up a fan, but that fan is also a superstar herself! WNBA star Erica McCall, who plays for the local Indiana Fever, joined the “Southbound” songstress onstage for an epic, girl power version of “The Champion” that had fans freaking out once they realized who was actually rapping.
Indianapolis was incredible tonight! I had an especially great time singing #TheChampion with Erica McCall of the WNBA…
McCall killed it and you could tell Underwood was loving every second of it as well. So were we. Watch the epic rap below!
